Plot Summary: Big-screen version of the Hasbro game "Battleship."

The game consists of two players arranging a variety of ships on a grid. The game proceeds in alternating salvos as players try to "sink" the opposition's ships by guessing where they sit on the grid.

While plot details are being kept under wraps, the studio is looking to make an epic naval action adventure.

Alright. This is getting rediculous. First "Transformers", then "G.I. Joe". Now "Battleship"? What's next... live action "Hungry, Hungry Hippos"? Maybe "Barrel of Monkeys". Obviously Universal is going to ride this trend right into the ground.

Monopoly is on its way, as is a Clue remake. Candyland has been greenlit too. Seriously. Meanwhile I'm going hold my breath for the Chutes and Ladders movie.

I dont blame them for trying to make the 80's or early 90's pop culture movies because those one's are probably the only watchable ones today like the "the great out doors" or the "Goonies" and the 100 other ones because I'm sick of the candid candy crap they make today like high school musical and you can blame it on the new genre and on another note lastsmith shut up, Transformer 1 & 2 is a awesome movie and the only watchable one today besides the dark knight and 12 other ones that I can think of off the top of my head but their all movie series like lord of the rings, Pirates and the Bourn series.

it's been bad for quiet sometime now. teens waged war against the government in the 50s, 60s and 70s and film and music was their dirty inspiration. so they bought all the companies that owned both these mediums and began a process of turning defiant youth into consumers. if you cant get the youth onto the battlefield gaining terrain for the mega-rich, get them into the shopping malls spending loads on the latest piece of techno or fad, pouring dollars back into the government. good to see today's youth are good for something and as far as mainstream film goes, their not interested in making art that future generations will look at and draw influence from. it's a product, nothing more.

the plot is "kept under wraps" because no one has a freakin' clue what to make this movie about.

Hey Hollywood...you've gone through 80's TV, toys, and comic books, what's next. Breakfast cereal??? Snap, Crackle, and Pop are international spies?? Tony the Tiger is the new quarterback in a sports comedy?? How about a horror movie starring Count Chocula, Franken Berry, and Boo Berry....

Battleship...give me a break!!
