Plot Summary: Paramount Pictures is moving forward with a sequel to its reboot of "Star Trek."

J.J. Abrams, who directed and produced the new film, is on board to produce the follow-up alongside his Bad Robot partner Bryan Burk. No decision has been made yet on whether Abrams will direct the sequel, and Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof are on board to write the screenplay.

The story is still in the embryonic stage, but the trio are aiming to deliver their script to the Melrose studio by Christmas '09 for what would likely be a summer 2011 release.

Ya Gordon has the same idea i had. Id love to see a reboot of each series but one movie only per. 1st is classic trek, next should be TNG, followed by DS9 etc. If they churn out a ton of Chris Pine trek films itll follow path of all the others...
PS if they Did do a TNG film...who the heck would play Picard? to be honest...just off the top of my head im thinking Jason Issacs. His voice isnt as deep as Stewarts, but I think he could give a hell of a performance.

The next Star Trek movie will take place on a cosmic planet, where the Enterprise crashes after being pulled from space and breaking up. The crew finds themselves on this planet that they think is deserted. However, over the span of 5 more movies, they discover that they are not only not alone, but the planet is moving through space and time. it's a story about coincidences, interweaving of the cast, and mysterious set of numbers that in the end have no meaning. Supporting cast includes some guy named Ben, a 'monster', a group called the others, and a hairy, large chewbacca-type creature called Hurley. Sorry, someone had to do it ;-)
