Plot Summary: In "Food, Inc.," filmmaker Robert Kenner lifts the veil on our nation's food industry, exposing the highly mechanized underbelly that's been hidden from the American consumer with the consent of our government's regulatory agencies, USDA and FDA. Our nation's food supply is now controlled by a handful of corporations that often put profit ahead of consumer health, the livelihood of the American farmer, the safety of workers and our own environment. We have bigger-breasted chickens, the perfect pork chop, insecticide-resistant soybean seeds, even tomatoes that won't go bad, but we also have new strains of e coli--the harmful bacteria that causes illness for an estimated 73,000 Americans annually. We are riddled with widespread obesity, particularly among children, and an epidemic level of diabetes among adults.

Featuring interviews with such experts as Eric Schlosser ("Fast Food Nation"), Michael Pollan ("The Omnivore's Dilemma") along with forward thinking social entrepreneurs like Stonyfield Farms' Gary Hirschberg and Polyface Farms' Joe Salatin, "Food, Inc." reveals surprising -- and often shocking truths -- about what we eat, how it's produced, who we have become as a nation and where we are going from here.

Hopefully I'm not the only one looking forward to this movie. Hopefully I'm not the only one sickened by our corrupt food industry, among other things.

finally, i wish they would make more documentaries about the food we are presented with - its horrendous. buy local or better yet, grow your own food! if it didnt fall off a tree dont eat it. if you didnt feed the cattle yourself, dont eat it. and if it says high fructose corn syrup RUN AWAY!

Finally - an objective look at the horrendous picture presented to us by the food industry in this country and the corruption and lies of the FDA and USDA and big corporations. They are holding us hostage and deliberately making us fat and sick! I am looking forward to this with every fiber and hope more of my fellow Americans will take their heads out of their asses and begin to pay attention!!

I am very excited about the release of this movie. Like so many things that face our nation right now, the public hasn't been presented with all the facts . . . and as we know, some of those pertinent facts have been consciously kept from us. Shine that light of Truth, push greed aside and we can change things!

I have no pity on those that die from eating animals. It is not the processing that is bad...its all of it... How long does it take for those that eat animals to realize that it is wrong? It's no different than smoking or doing drugs in my opinion. You don't want to worry about contaminated meat...stop eating it..

Think of rendering plants the next time you chow down on a burger... Oh, and find out what happens the spoiled meats in the supermarkets that goes to waste... Or does it?
