I'm going to comment on this before any of you cynics decide to rip it a new one. I kind of like the idea of a remake of this. I saw a preview of the original source material and it definitely turns the vampire genre on its ear. Plus, with the man behind "Cloverfield" at the helm, I could truly see some potential with this movie.

Is this a Mad Max type syndrome??? Do the Americans have to rape every good movie from other countries just so they can have an english speaking version of a truly fantastic piece of art???? Has the US not learned to leave great films alone since they definately cannot improve on something that they didn't come up with in the first place??? I always knew that they ran out of ideals long time ago... Guess this re-instates my theory..

Hey Steve B,
The answer to your question is Yes. "Americanizing" great pieces of art for the purposes of money is an unfortunate hobby of Americans. Still, I do look forward to seeing the American version, even if it is just out of curiosity.

This is absolute crap. The original film was SPECTACULAR and SHOULD NOT be touched. Let the general public see the film before you skewer it, you Hollywood a-holes.

BOYCOTT!

I saw the Swedish original, and I must say it was the most eccentric, yet outstanding vampire movie I've ever seen. The two kids in the lead roles were excellent. Please don't "Americanize/Hollywood-tize" this movie.

please do not say the original was outstanding. the movie was horrible in the least. americans making this movie will do a far better job.

I was mesmerized by the Swedish version , and rumors state that "Let me in" will be an adaptation of the book, not a remake of the movie.

Yet still unnecessary in my opinion.....
