Plot Summary:
Sony is developing a feature film version of"H.R. Pufnstuff" based on Sid and Marty Krofft's '60s children's show and is in talks with director Conrad Vernon, who helmed "Shrek 2" and "Monsters vs. Aliens."
A young boy named Jimmy has in his possession a magic flute named Freddie that can talk and play tunes on its own. One day he gets on a magic talking boat that happens to belong to a wicked witch named Witchiepoo, who uses the boat to kidnap Jimmy and take him to her home base on Living Island, where fortunately Jimmy is rescued by the island's mayor, a six foot dragon named H.R. Pufnstuf.
The original "H.R. Pufnstuff" TV show aired in 1969 and later a feature film in 1970, both starred Jack Wild and Billie Hayes.
