Plot Summary: "Nowhere Boy" tells the never before seen story of John Lennon's (Johnson) childhood. John Lennon is an ordinary fifteen year old boy on the streets of Liverpool. Funny, smart, naughty, a real edge to him. But life is not simple for John - he grew up in a family of secrets and was raised by his Aunt Mimi from the age of five. When he is suddenly reacquainted with his mother, Julia, they form an unbreakable bond. A bitter war rages between the two sisters for John's love. Faced with bringing it to an end, he learns the secret heartbreak of his past. But his mother gives him one great gift - music. A wayward boy finds his voice, and walks into The Beatles.

'Bout time. I wonder if it would be like "Across the Universe". Hmmmmm. . .

You can stop wondering. This movie is nothing like Across the Universe, thank god. Many people who remember John as a teenage are still alive, except the main characters in the story-his mother and his Aunt Mimi. I hope this movie is fair to both of them.

Excellent Movie, warm and compelling. I saw the preview at AMC Lincoln Center Cinema last night. After wards, my girlfriend and I walked to the Dakota Apt. as Yoko Ono had just past the security gate. I can’t help but think, that maybe she was sitting in the back row of the theater incognito. We strolled across Columbus Ave. and sat down a bench in Strawberry Fields and reflected on what we just saw at the theater. The movie was an accurate historical depction of Lennon's early life. The ambiance was British in every way; the characters true to life. I would recommend this movie to any one.
