Plot Summary: Based on award-winning Irish playwright Joseph O'Connor's celebrated stage drama, the dark comedy explores the complex dynamics of love, life and the loss of a family member with delightfully scathing humor and surprising plot twists. Amidst a haze of cigarette smoke, uneaten food and enough whiskey to sink a ship, the family of Enda Doyle (Golden Globe nominee Malcolm McDowell) gathers in Dublin for their patriarch's eventful wake. A university librarian, poet and rascal, Enda’s legacy includes a trail of unresolved issues, a dysfunctional family, and a disturbing mystery.

Caught this movie yesterday and found it wickedly funny. Even thought it's a story about an Irish family's grief, there were elements of my crazy dysfunctional American family in it too. Great cast. I especially enjoyed Heather Juergensen, whose performance was spot-on.

saw this movie by chance at Laguna Niguel. Not too shabby, I was expecting it a crappy low-budget indie film but I actually enjoyed it. It had that witty dry humor that I like but yet had a dramatic tone. Malcolm McDowell is a great actor and it was nice to see him in something besides his Heroes character. Decent plot, but characters did it for me.

The variations of surprising turns and sharp humor made the movie a must see. It was relatable, and an overall great movie. It touches on and executes complex inner family issues that alot of movies dont tend to deviate deeply into. Also Max Beesly is a rediculously funny drunk. I'd recommend it to all
