Plot Summary: Shauna Macdonald returns as Sarah, continuing the story of 2005’s hugely successful horror thriller The Descent, in which a group of young women disappear during a caving trip in the Appalachian Mountains.

Emerging from the cave system alone, distraught and covered in the blood of her missing companions, Sarah is incoherent and half-wild with fear. Sceptical about her account of events and convinced Sarah's psychosis hides far darker secrets, Sheriff Vaines (Gavan O'Herlihy) doesn't waste time. Along with his partner Rios (Krysten Cummings), and their cave rescue team Dan (Douglas Hodge), Greg (Joshua Dallas), and Cath (Anna Skellern), Vaines forces Sarah back into the caves to help the rescuers find her friends.

Alongside Macdonald, "The Descent: Part 2" also features Natalie Mendoza reprising her role as Juno. Krysten Cummings, Anna Skellern, Gavan O'Herlihy ("Seven Days of Grace"), Joshua Dallas ("Ghost Machine," "Doctor Who") and Douglas Hodge ("Mansfield Park") also star.

Interesting... I loved the movie, but if you watch the original version (not the American version), Sarah never escapes from the cave.

The first film was great, hopefully this one follows the same mold. Will it be playing in theaters, or direct to DVD?

ugh i absolutely loooovve the first one but i am kinda dissapointed cause i think this one will ruin it :(. anyway... it ruins the original ending and follows up with the crappy alternate american ending. i am an american though lol sry the way i was saying it made me sound like from the uk wher it was made or somethin lol

yes in the original (not american) she does not get out. however in the 1st movie she does not get out. the second film has her escape but it's part 2. a new movie not an original. i'm so sick of people being wrong about the first film. at the end she is in the caves. theescape scene is a dream

no i know the escape sequence was just a dream but what im saying is that in the american version, they used the alternate ending where they just cut it short when she ssaw the bloody version of juno sitting next to her. so how the american version ends she IS out of the cave. but in the original she is still in the caves. i hope they take it off from the original but it seems like theyre taking it from the alternate ending

ugh this sux!!!!! i hate it when a movie has a good creepy ending like this but then they just act like the person never died at the end or in this case she actually DID get out of the cave and it wasnt a dream... ugh its such bs!! and i agree with rj... so many ppl are confused about that whole dream thing! one of my friends actually thought that the whole movie was a dream but stuff did happen and i tried explaining it to him and hes like i dont get it! and im like wtf ur stupid!!!1
