Plot Summary: Based on the Icelandic best-seller Tainted Blood by Arnaldur IndriÃason. Under a moody, threatening sky, an elderly man is found dead in his basement flat - "a typical Icelandic murder: messy and pointless," sighs police inspector Erlendur (Ingvar E. Sigurdsson). The cops don't have much to go on, until a hidden photograph of a young girl's grave turns up a lead. They discover that many years ago the victim was accused, though not convicted, of horrible crimes. Did the old man's past come back to haunt him?
