Plot Summary: Carnahan and the Scott brothers say they will use the original premise of the series as the template for an action film. In the original, four Vietnam vets convicted of armed robbery escape from military prison and became do-gooder mercenaries.

The Middle East will replace Vietnam as the place the four did their tour of duty, but Carnahan said the origin story is the jumping-off point.

The original series, which ran from 1983-87 and starred George Peppard, Mr. T, Dirk Benedict and Dwight Schultz, followed an unofficial team of Vietnam vets who will stop at nothing to get the bad guys. Sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit, these four commandos escaped from a maximum-security stockade and now survive in the Los Angeles underground as soldiers of fortune.

Stephen J. Cannell, who created the show, will produce the movie with Jules Daly, Ridley Scott, with Tony Scott executive producing through their Scott Free banner.

Also producing are and Stephen J. Cannell, the latter of whom created the original TV series.

How about the guy that played LT. Parker on 7 Days as Howling Mad Murdock? He was great at being crazy and getting the job done. The Rock as BA, not a bad choice.

How about this casting for "The A-Team":

Col. John "Hannibal" Smith: George Clooney
Sgt. Bosco Albert "B.A." Baracus: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson
Lt. Templeton "Face Man" Peck: Bill Pullman
Capt. H.M. "Howling Mad" Murdock: Jim Carrey
Amy "Triple A" Allen: Sandra Bullock

If John Singleton ever decides to have Amy Allen in the "A-Team" movie, Sandra Bullock should play her. The Rock as B.A. Baracus makes sense, minus the mohawk. If the Rock is cast as B.A. Baracus, he should play the role his way and not try to be Mr. T.- he shouldn't have to sport a mohawk to play that role, because it would be a slap in the face to Mr. T and the Rock would do himself a disservice by not being totally original playing B.A. Let the Rock be the Rock as we let Mr. T be Mr. T. George Clooney and Jim Carrey are obvious choices, but I can't think of anyone else other than Bill Pullman to play Face.
