I saw the original film several years ago and remembered liking it. It's the kind of movie that should be remade in my opinion because it wasn't a super popular film and it didn't completely pertain to genre fans of any kind. It was entertaining and has the potential to be retold and given a face lift. It's not a classic that "shouldn't be touched" and the story is one of the more original ideas in the last 15 years. No comic book character image to complain about, not sequel/prequel, no over blown $20/$30 million actor either. I think it has potential.
