Plot Summary:
Small-town boy Shawn MacArthur (Channing Tatum) has come to New York City with nothing. Barely earning a living selling counterfeit goods on the streets, his luck changes when scam artist Harvey Boarden (Terrence Howard) sees that he has a natural talent for streetfighting. When Harvey offers Shawn help at making the real cash, the two form an uneasy partnership.
As Shawn's manager, Harvey introduces him to the corrupt bare-knuckle circuit, where rich men bet on disposable pawns. Almost overnight, he becomes a star brawler, taking down professional boxers, mixed martial arts champs and ultimate fighters in a series of staggeringly intense bouts. But if Shawn ever hopes to escape the dark world in which he's found himself, he must now face the toughest fight of his life.

Yes there is fighting in the street..
There's a little more to that movie than Kicking Ass. Perhaps there's a little more to this one too.
Great production, cool story, real good actors.
It was a fun film to work on.

I don't anticipate this movie, but if it ever hits theaters it would be interesting to see. Who knows, it could be an underdog big hit.
Looks more like a van damnn movie than anything else, but we'll just have to see.
There's a reason that a movie like Rocky worked - He was fighting for his life, basically... Fighting for *A* life, with a once in a lifetime opportunity that couldn't be turned down.
These movies are just about dudes that like to fight, which doesn't engender the same sympathy, because the cause isn't as noble. These guys COULD just walk away when getting the crap kicked out of them got old, but for unknown reasons they don't.
That's why Redbelt was basically the only movie made recently in reaction to the MMA boom that was any good - Because it was framed in official competition, and because the fighting was a means to an end, not the entire point of the movie.
