Plot Summary: In "The Soloist," an emotionally soaring drama about the redemptive power of music, journalist Steve Lopez (Oscar® nominee Robert Downey Jr.) discovers Nathaniel Anthony Ayers (Oscar® winner Jamie Foxx), a former classical music prodigy, playing his violin on the streets of L.A. u know they will because someone(critics, media) will be all over them. the cool thing is is that i was there while they were filming. i live right around the corner and walked to the set all 3 days they were there. i live in cleveland, ohio by the way

I was in the movie and live in the same complex as Nathaniel. He plays his violin and trumpet almost everyday. Lately he's been banging on the bottom of a trash can like a drum. Yes, they paid nathaniel for the story as I herd his sister is taking care of that. See you in the movie.

"It's all but confirmed: Paramount has 2 in-house
(translation: non-DreamWorks) films that they're pushing in the
Oscar race: "Defiance" and "The Curious Case of Benjamin
Button." They're also pushing one other DreamWorks film -
"Revolutionary Road" - too. So, with 3 films in the Oscar
race, "The Soloist" was the odd man out. The only way this
film can get back in the game is if co-producer Universal
Pictures buys the film outright from Paramount and releases it
in November as planned."
