Plot Summary: Decorated Iraq war hero Sgt. Brandon King makes a celebrated return to his small Texas hometown following his tour of duty. Brandon tries to resume the life he left behind with the help and support of his family and his best friend, Steve Shriver, who served with him in Iraq. Alongside their war-time buddies, Brandon and Steve try to make peace with civilian life. Then, against Brandon's will, the Army orders him back to duty in Iraq. This upends Brandon's entire world. The conflict into which he is thrown tests everything he believes in: the bond of family, the loyalty of friendship, the limits of love, and the value of honor.

Are there any tenenagers or young adults who give a **** about their friends (or family) who are over in Iraq. Judging from the lack of comments on this blog, greater attention to superhero movie blogs and failure of most Iraq related movies I suppose not. you guys are a real credit to your generation.

Don't get too worked up if people don't go see this movie. It's just propaganda, no offense to your political affiliation. When people feel a sense of duty, they give to the poor, join the army themselves, write to a congressman, pray to see what God would have them do, etc. But usually they don't go see a movie. I am coming from a family whose father has died in a fatal car accident, whose brother has been on probation for being falsely accused for child endangerment, whose sister has an addiction to crack and has stolen thousands of dollars from me. I have had a sense of duty to join the army myself but can't go due to being overweight but I am working on that. I have a lot to be miserable about so I read the Bible for guidance, pray to God for healing, give what I can and I go to see a movie to escape. I would much rather see Iron Man any day, than to go see another condescending Hollywood movie about war. And I have seen my fair share of anti-war movies. I appreciate that you care, but your passion is misplaced. Hollywood will never solve anything.

Im so sick of this MTV Bull^%$t, Havent they noticed that no one sees these movies. This is a bunch of Liberal propaganda, Instead of showing how were WINNNING THE WAR and this was something that had to be done.

Adam, they do care, but they're interested in the war itself, not this fictional movie and it's biased opinion of the war.

Roddy, best of luck! I hope things turn around for you.

Matt, I couldn't agree more. This movie may have been more successful had it been released a year ago (probably as it was in production). The turnaround of the war will probably make many of the points this movie makes, moot. I cannot say for certain, though as the movie has not come out yet.

I probably won't go see it. I don't need MTV to tell me what's right and wrong. In fact, I fear for the people that do rely on MTV for their morals.

this was an awesome movie and as an army wife, i can say its one of the best depictions of a soldiers' life. its not glamorous or pretty. yet they continue to fight for the country they believe in and are willing to sacrifice everything for people they'll never meet.
God Bless this country && God Bless and Protect each one of those men and women.

hey adam!
IM a young adult and i DO give a **** about this movie AND the war in iraq. my best friends are over there along with my HUSBAND. so maybe you shouldnt jump to conclusions so fast. after all- this is a movie site, MOST (not all) people who are THAT concerned with the war arent on here. =]

lol melissa- go figure- it takes the WOMEN on here to see things sensibly.

&& the kid with the crackhead family and the obvious liberal democrat can just shut up until they KNOW what they're talking about. which will probably be forever. until you PERSONALLY KNOW someone who's fighting this war- shut the HELL up. you have no idea what is really going on with it. you dont know if we're winning or getting our asses kicked. but you think you do, right? well thats because media is FILTERED to what they want you to see and what sells. guess what? WINNING THE WAR DOESNT SELL. so how about you NOT talk **** about the men that are fighting for your right to say some of the most uneducated thoughts ive ever heard.

This was an excellent movie. It depicted a realistic look at what the soldiers who are in Iraq face daily. The resulting stress causes terrible problems. Except for the ending this was an interesting and realistic movie.
