Plot Summary: When California girl Susan Murphy is unwittingly clobbered by a meteor full of outer space gunk on her wedding day, she mysteriously grows to 49-feet-11-inches tall. The military jumps into action and Susan is captured and secreted away to a covert government compound. There, she is renamed Ginormica and placed in confinement with a ragtag group of Monsters: the brilliant but insect-headed Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D.; the macho half-ape, half-fish The Missing Link; the gelatinous and indestructible B.O.B.; and the 350-foot grub called Insectosaurus. Their confinement is cut short, however, when a mysterious alien robot lands on Earth and begins storming the country. In a moment of desperation, the President is persuaded to enlist the motley crew of Monsters to combat the Alien Robot and save the world from imminent destruction.

Come on, Shark Tale was the worst animated movie i have ever seen.

The first two Shreks are classic.

Over the Hedge and Flushed away were fun, but no more.

And this movie looks promising.

why 3d? simple - dreamworks and 3 other leading studios have recently signed a MASSIVE deal to re-launch 3d movies across over 10,000 screens in the US.
It's some (probably in vain) attempt to rekindle the movie going public to go back to the theatre again.
It's the same sort of story that we saw in the 1950s... The screens maybe different but the glasses (and the financial incentives for the hollywood big dicks) remain the same.

CURSES TO THE UNENLIGHTENED!! THE 1950'S PERIOD PIECE IS A PERFECT SETTING FOR A 3-D MONSTER FIGHT. THE CAST SOUNDS FRIGGIN ENTERTAINING, ESPECIALLY COLBERT(HE NEEDS TO CROSS OVER TO FILM MORE OFTEN,THE QUICK WITTED BASTARD0). AFTER WATCHING BEOWOLF IN 3-D I REMEMBERED HOW DOPE 3-D MOVIES ARE. WE NEED MORE YOU HOLLYWOOD SCUM BAGS!!! THE FANTASTIC FOUR SHOULD HAVE BEEN SET IN THE LATE 50'S YOU FLACID PRETENDERS!!

The studios and theater owners have to do something to get people to come back to the 'going out to a movie' experience.
