Plot Summary: Hotshot, young attorney Bobby Kelly is on the fast track at a prestigious, Los Angeles law firm and seems to have it all—good looks, money and an engagement to the daughter of the managing partner. However, increasingly disenchanted, he is unfocused, frustrated and frequently under fire for his mistakes, both personally and professionally.
One night after working late, Bobby and his associates stumble across a rundown, old cocktail lounge, the Foxes Den, seemingly forgotten by time. With a few cocktails fueling his bravado, Bobby stands up to belt out an old jazz standard … and much to everyone’s surprise, including his own, he has real talent.
Following another professional mishap, Bobby abruptly quits to become the house singer at the Foxes Den, where he becomes entwined in the lives of the unique staff and eclectic regulars—affable owner Earl Stein, who’s manned the bar for 40 years; sardonic pianist Chad Barrows; Kat, a sweet-natured waitress harboring a shocking, dark secret; Paul and Tony, two older men with a deep, unspoken relationship; and other colorful locals.
In the process of helping them, Bobby slowly finds himself – perhaps even true love – as friends beg him not to “throw it all away.” But sometimes, getting lost is the only way back …
