Plot Summary: "Zaytoun" is the story of the unlikely alliance between Fahed (Abdallah El Akal,) a 12-year-old Palestinian refugee, and Yoni (Stephen Dorff,) an Israeli fighter pilot shot down over Beirut in 1982, amid the Lebanese Civil War.

When Israeli pilot Yoni (Stephen Dorff, Somewhere) is shot down over Beirut and taken prisoner by inhabitants of a Palestinian refugee camp, Fahed (Palestinian child actor Abdallah El Akal, The Attack, Lebanon) and his young friends are left to guard him. Despite his initial hatred of Yoni, Fahed's overpowering desire to see his parents' homeland leads him to help Yoni escape in return for taking Fahed to Israel. Their initial distrust develops into a delicate friendship, dodging danger across a war-torn Middle East, as they make their way to a place they both call home.
