Before writer/director Neill Blomkamp got famous making original science fiction epics like District 9 and Elysium, he made his name directing a series of short films. Now Blomkamp is returning to his roots with Oats Studios, his own production company dedicated to making experimental sci-fi short films. Check out the first look trailer below!
The shorts appear to feature all the Blomkamp trademarks, including realistic CGI characters and environments, as well as socio-political subject matter relating to the human condition. Keep your eyes peeled for appearances by several notable actors, including Dakota Fanning and Sigourney Weaver, the latter of whom worked with Blomkamp on Chappie and the now-aborted Alien 5.
