Things Get Weird in a Japanese Giant Toy Story Robot Commercial!

Watch a Woody and friends combine to form a giant Toy Story robot!

Have you ever wondered what Sheriff Woody and his Toy Story friends would do if they had to face off against attacking Kaiju? Wonder no more as, in the player below, you can check out a Japanese commerical that features the DisneyPixar characters combining to into one massive Toy Story robot (dubbed the “Toy Story Combination Woody Robo Sheriff Star,” naturally). While it’s probably safe to assume that we won’t be seeing a giant Toy Story robot in the upcoming Toy Story 4, this video is too much bizarre fun not to share! You can also check out images of the Japanese toy line in the gallery viewer below and read more about Bandai‘s unusual creation at the official site.

Toy Story 4, meanwhile, is on track for a June 15, 2018 release. Pixar chief and the film’s co-director John Lasseter previously confirmed the new movie will be a love story between Bo Peep and Woody. Bo Peep (and her sheep) was introduced as Woody’s love interest in the original 1995 Toy Story, as voiced by Annie Potts (Ghostbusters). She was absent from Toy Story 3, only briefly glimpsed in Andy’s home movies after apparently having been sold. Whether they plan to bring her back into the fold somehow or if the story is a prequel remains to be seen.

The script for Toy Story 4 will be provided by actors-turned-screenwriters Rashida Jones and Will McCormack, who previously penned and starred in Celeste and Jesse Forever. They’re working from a story idea by Lasseter, Andrew Stanton, Pete Docter, and Lee Unkrich. Pixar’s Galyn Susman will produce, and Lasseter will co-direct alongside Josh Cooley.

Toy Story 4 will feature the return of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack and the rest of the hit franchise’s diverse voice talent.
