Prepare for The Rush in StarCraft Fan Film

RocketJump, most well known for the YouTube series “Video Game High School” and other video game-themed mash ups, have released their latest fan film, which is entirely StarCraft-themed.

Titled “The Rush,” a term that will be all too familiar with StarCraft players, the video stars Ellary Porterfield and Nico David and is directed by Matthew Arnold and Freddie Wong. You can check it out in the player below.

For the uninitiated, “Zerg Rush” is a term used by players in the game wherein the strategy involves creating as many units as possible in a quick amount of time in order to attack your opponents before they can fully mobilize. As seen in the video below, it’s an effective strategy for attacking not only bases but farm houses. The visual effects for the short were provided by Playfight VFX.

First released seventeen years ago, StarCraft has maintained its popularity and importance in the video game world where it is often praised as one of the best games of its genre. The next entry in the “Starcraft” series, StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void, has yet to be given a release date, but is currently beta testing. “Legacy of the Void” is the second expansion for the long-awaited sequel, and the final installment in the StarCraft II series.
