P.S. I Love You Tops DVD Charts

Warner Home Video’s P.S. I Love You, starring Hilary Swank, topped the national video sales and rental charts its first week in stores, easily beating fellow new release First Sunday from Sony.

The Hollywood Reporter says P.S. I Love You bumped Fox’s 27 Dresses to No. 2 on the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart and Home Media Magazine’s rental chart.

First Sunday debuted at No. 3 on both charts. New Line’s The Golden Compass was No. 4 on both charts.

On the sales front, P.S. I Love You sold nearly twice as many copies as First Sunday in its first week. P.S. I Love You also generated an estimated $7.2 million in revenue, compared with $5.6 million for First Sunday.

On the high-definition front, Twister was the top-selling Blu-ray Disc release of the week, with “Golden Compass” at No. 2 and P.S. I Love You debuting at No. 3.
