The Rundown is Biggest Title of the Week

Universal Studios Home Video’s The Rundown was the top- selling and -renting title nationwide for the week ending March 28. The action-comedy, starring The Rock, Seann William Scott and Rosario Dawson, sold more than 1.5 million combined DVD/VHS units to consumers and video rental chains during its first 24 hours in release and is believed to have sold more than 3 million combined units to consumers and video rental outlets during its first five days in release. “Rundown” generated more than $11 million in gross rental revenue during the same frame.

Warner Home Video’s Gothika, starring Halle Berry and Robert Downey Jr., debuted as the nation’s second-best-renting and -selling DVD, generating an estimated $9.15 million in gross rental revenue during its first five days on store shelves.
