Hogs Still Riding Atop the Charts

Wild Hogs topped the national video sales and rental charts for the week ending August 26.

The Disney comedy remained at the top of the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart, outpacing 300 for the second consecutive week.

The film also topped Home Media Magazine’s rental chart for a second time. “Hogs” earned $7.8 million in rental revenue, bringing its total to $17.8 million, or about 10% of its $168.2 million in theatrical earnings.

Perfect Stranger was the only other new feature among the top 10 on the sales and rental charts. The thriller turned up at No. 3 on the sales chart and at No. 5 on the rental chart, with $5.3 million in rental revenue.

Two TV-DVD releases debuted among the top 10 sellers: “House: Season 3” and “South Park: The Complete Tenth Season” bowed at Nos. 4 and No. 7, respectively.
