Happy Feet Becomes Biggest ’07 DVD

Warner Home Video’s Happy Feet remained the top-selling DVD in the country for the second consecutive week and also managed to surpass another Warner title, The Departed, to become the No. 1 seller of 2007.

Universal Studios’ The Good Shepherd, meanwhile, debuted as the No. 1 renter, according to Home Media Magazine’s rental chart for the week ending April 8. The film earned an estimated $8.7 million in rental stores, compared with $8.5 million for second-ranked The Pursuit of Happyness, from Sony Pictures, the previous week’s top renter.

“Shepherd” debuted at No. 3 on the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart, behind Paramount’s Charlotte’s Web. “Web” bowed at No. 5 on the rental chart with $5.7 million.
